It's Still Not Midnight Here

I have lived in three different time zones... today...  Eastern, Pacific, and Mountain... in that order (and I flew through Central, too).  Talk about disorienting...

I am too tired to write much, but I want you to know the word of the day is ecumenical.  You should know how to define this word.  You should especially know how to define this word if you have an M.A. in theology and are working toward an M.Div.  A quick Google search will give you this definition:

"representing a number of different Christian churches"

Here are some synonyms:

nondenominational, universal, catholic, all-embracing, all-inclusive, latitudinarian

You might also use:

"promoting or relating to unity among the world's Christian churches"

I promise you - if you ever do a recorded interview during which you forget what ecumenical means, it will come back to haunt you.  It's one of those forever things.  This might have happened to me.  The interview was scored, friends!  Just don't be that person.  When someone says, "aren't you the one who I interviewed who couldn't remember what ecumenical meant," be able to say, "no," with integrity.

Well, the Wesley Conference is coming up tomorrow.  How appropriate that it is about "Dialogue Despite Difference".  How very ecumenical (make sure you can use it in a sentence, too).

That is all.

Except I seriously think I might need a cone of shame...  Go ahead and laugh.  I'm laughing.

L.
