Psalm 140:12, "I know that the Lord secures justice for the poor and
upholds the cause of the needy" (NIV).
Not too long ago, I had a discussion with a friend that led to a blog post (found here) and the question, "*How* should we be feeding the hungry?" Because feeding the hungry, in any way, is better than not feeding them at all, but there are things we could do to improve on our methods. A lot of people like to use the old adage, "Give a person a fish, feed him/her for a day; teach a person to fish, feed him/her for a lifetime." But why not do both?
