Eve of Epiphany

Christmas Time is about to come to an end, and with it our family Sacred Days.  The truth is, I feel a little bit sad.  I like these days when we close the door to our home and regroup.  I like the quiet.  I like the peace.  But doors are meant for opening.

Tonight, we will chalk the door.  If you're unfamiliar with this practice, that's OK.  I was, too, until this past week, but now that I know about it, I cannot imagine not doing it.  It just makes sense.  A description can be found, here.

God, may you bless "our comings and goings, our conversations, our work and play, our joys and sorrows".  We need you to dwell deeply within us and around us.

Tomorrow morning, I will take some packed bags, get into the van, and reconnect with community.  Briefly.  Then Soul Care Days.  Then regularly scheduled life.  I hope I'm ready.  Here we go.

For I am reading and thinking..."May God dwell in all that we do and say! May we share His great love with those around us!"
